A dark Cinderella retelling (7,500 words).

When the Prince turns eighteen, the Marked One will appear. As soon as the Prince sees the one he is destined to marry, the mark of a lotus flower will appear on their back, right below their neck.

Cinderella is certain she will be the Marked One. That is, until she sees the mark appear on someone else.
